Mechanical Designer I - (colmar, pennsylvania) in Reading, Pennsylvania For Sale

Creates, implements and coordinates engineering product design projects that will support the creation, development, and improvement of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic products, as directed by the Engineering Services Manager. Additional responsibilities include directing the measurement, testing evaluation, and documentation of products.
Primary Duties:
:Coordinate projects which ultimately produce product drawings or documentation that identifies product characteristics which meet the product group development requirements, by using solid modeling, digital imaging and photography, specification research and development, and testing
:Utilize reverse engineering best practices to facilitate product design and development.
:Develop product design ideas
Key Accountabilities:
:Engineering resource for internal customers
:Sample preparation utilizing small hand tools
:Work with engineers, product line managers,purchasing to aid in the development of suppliers and products.
:
Marketing support for product presentations
Requirements:
:Minimum 2:3years experience in product design using 3:D modeling techniques.
:Significant experience using Solidworks design software for design, modeling, drafting, and prototyping
:Thorough of industry standarddrafting techniques; GD and T knowledge is preferred
:Ability to use basic measurement tools, comparator, calipers, micrometers; CMM a plus
:Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Excel and Access
:Functional knowledge of automotive vehicle components
:Participated in cross:functional teams
:Experience with small hand tools (drill press, grinder, etc.)
:Experience with digital imaging and photography
:BS, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
Physical Requirements: Capability to lift 50 pounds.
Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach, swivel, carry items from one building to another, and speak and actively listen. Noise level is usually moderate.
