Position Description Industry Manager : Water Treatment Brenntag Northeast, Inc. The Industry Manager : Water Treatment (IM) is first and foremost a customer:facing leader who can manage the opportunity pipeline through extensive industry and market knowledge. The IM must be able to work collaboratively with commercial and operations personnel in order to achieve the Regional profit growth goals. Attention to supplier relationships, including utilization of the Global Sourcing Organization, inter:regional collaboration, and price/cost management are all essential and inter:related activities. The IM considers all aspects of the relationship with customers, including quality, value and the ability to respond quickly to changing supply requirements. The IM will achieve profit dollar growth while ensuring that existing customers are retained as long:term partners. Qualifications Experience in or a strong working knowledge of various aspects of industrial and commercial water treatment, including cooling water, boiler water, reverse osmosis, and industrial supply/process/waste water systems, is required. An understanding of these various applications and related chemical products and services is essential, as well as how they relate to the Water Additives Value Proposition.? Essential Duties and Responsibilities Commit to Brenntag Core Values including Safety First initiativesCommercial Excellence ? a. Achieve Water Industry gross profit growth objectives, including GP improvement from year to year b. Ensure that industry team goals are aligned with the Brenntag North America corporate strategies and incorporated into the Brenntag way process c. Define and achieve growth goals for key suppliers/product lines d. Achieve New customer Opportunity Targets in the water segment per the strategic plan and Sales Rep territory goals 3. Commercial Collaboration Drive collaboration between District Managers, Sales Managers and support staff to meet industry objectives; hold sales organization accountable to achieve segment growth Integrate Global Sourcing into the regional business plan Direct customer interaction with top customers and prospects in industry segment Work with Key Account management to grow Key Accounts in industry segment Review market analysis to determine customer needs, volume potential, price schedules and discount rates, and develop sales campaigns to accommodate goals of the companyTravel throughout region to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders 4. Support accounting and purchasing teams by cooperating with collections and inventory management efforts when needed Education and Experience A Bachelor's degree from a four:year college or university is required. A technical degree is preferred. The IM should have at least 5 years of experience in the water treatment industry, with field experience in industrial water treatment preferred.
