General description: Under the direction of the Director of Engineering and the supervision of the Plant Manager, the Process Improvement Engineer's main responsibilities will be centered on the optimization of the existing processes in an operating domestic manufacturing facility producing architectural building products. As an extension of the optimization of the plant's existing processes, this individual will be responsible for managing the Quality Assurance activities in the plant as well. The optimization of the processes would include, but is not limited to: mapping and review of current processes/procedures from both production and quality:centric points:of:view, introduction of efficiency and baka:yoke measures into the existing processes to reduce cost and improve quality, and overall process:improvement/cost:control initiatives. This individual will work closely with engineering, production, and maintenance personnel and will supervise (1) quality control technician. Education/Experiential requirements: BS in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical or Related Engineering field from and ABET accredited program Minimum of (5) years of manufacturing, process or industrial engineering with a building products manufacturer Minimum of (2) years of process improvement work in a manufacturing setting Minimum of (2) years of performing, creating and supervising quality assurance procedures Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) preferred
